Turkish Restaurant for Paddington & Bayswater

Bakerloo from Paddington to Oxford Circus, then an eight-minute walk west — Turkish kahvalti until 4pm, chargrill until 22:30.

Full Turkish breakfast spread (serpme kahvalti) at Grand Bazaar London, near Paddington

From Paddington station the simplest route is also the quickest by tube: Bakerloo line three stops to Oxford Circus and walk eight minutes west, or Bakerloo two stops to Marble Arch and walk ten minutes east along Oxford Street. By Hammersmith & City to Edgware Road and a short walk south is roughly the same. On foot the whole trip is around twenty minutes through Hyde Park and Oxford Street, and is pleasant enough on a clear weekend morning. We're at 22 James Street, opposite Bond Street tube.

Paddington commuters and overnight guests are part of our regular breakfast trade. The Turkish breakfast — a full serpme kahvalti spread of feta, kasar, tulum, grilled halloumi, beef sucuk, two free-range eggs each, simit, warm bread, börek, jam, honey with kaymak, olives, tomato, cucumber and grilled peppers — runs until 4pm every day. For solo travellers the Mediterranean Breakfast for One and the Veggie Breakfast for One use the same ingredients in a single-plate format. Sucuklu yumurta and menemen are also on the breakfast à la carte.

Bayswater diners — Queensway, Bayswater Road, the streets around Lancaster Gate — are one Central line stop further east on the same line, or a fifteen-minute walk through Hyde Park if the weather's right. From Bayswater tube the route is straightforward: Central line eastbound, Bond Street, exit 3, sixty seconds on James Street. Door to door is around twelve minutes including the wait. We hold the breakfast service late enough that mid-morning Bayswater walk-ins are usually fine without a reservation.

The dinner-side menu carries the same kitchen for the Paddington and Bayswater catchment. Lamb shish, chicken shish, lamb chops, the Grand Bazaar mixed grill for two, iskender, lahmacun, manti with garlic yogurt, kebab pide and a long meze list. The room seats 42 inside and 75 outside on the pedestrianised section of St Christopher's Place. In summer those outside tables fill up first; in winter the inside dining room is dim and warm, and the chargrill is audible from most seats.

We're open every day until 22:30, including Sundays and bank holidays, with breakfast service running until 4pm. The meat menu is fully halal and the room is family-friendly throughout the day. For Paddington overnight guests with a 9am train, we'd suggest booking the kahvalti for 7:30; for slower weekend mornings, anything between 10:30 and noon books up quickly and is best reserved online. View the menus first or jump straight to the booking page.
